Portfolio - Personal Art
Political Cartoon, 1969 , tempera paint and pencil on paper, from a drawing in a magazine as an exercise in a high school art class, by Sandra Ringo
Political Cartoon - I took quite a few art classes while in high school. One of our assignments in my senior year art class was find a caricature or a cartoon and create a tempera paint image of it. This oversized figure of a man hiding the money behind him, while holding out his hand for more, captured my attention. I first sketched the outline of the cartoon in pencil and then finished it off with black tempera paint. The message of the cartoon has withstood the test of time, it seems nothing changes.
